the 12x12 vent covers r a must...

Make sure ur propane switch is to 1 side dont run both at the same time u will never have a half way point of knowing were ur at on propane...

Battery charger, air compressor

Propane does not matter if the switch is in the middle or not. If your gauge says half full, both tanks are half full. The nice thing about running the switch in the middle is you don't have to go out in your boxers to flip the switch to the other side in the middle of the night cause your fridge died. 3bottles of Propane will last you 3 long weekends so no worry to run out if you fill up every other trip. And that includes running the frig, furnace/ A/C and stove.

The best thing I bought for my toyhauler is one of those huge helium balloons that go up about 100ft in the air. I used it Easter and never had a hard time finding camp. I was at wash 10 and could see it once I went over the hill from Olds.

im not cool like u, i have no gauge ..just a blk sliding switch ...ill be rich 1 day like u and get a gauge...

for now yes sliding the switch to 1 side is a poors man smart gauge ...it works

Good thing to remember just saw it on another post, Hang a big sign up above the toilet saying,

NO WHITE RATS(TAMPONS) OR
BABY WIPES IN THE TOILET (BAG EM AN TAKE THEM WITH YA)

Nothing worse than unplgging your dump valve with a load of weekend eats behind it ready to ruin your day.

Well, you need a toyhauler first before you get a switch, Frank. You can afford a $2 guage. It's just like the one on your BBQ. Most toyhaulers come with them on the tanks too. It's alot cheaper then getting busy with your wife in the middle of the night and your furnace goes out.

BTW, I can make you rich too. Just put me on commision. LOL. I'm not rich, I just make the company pay for everything and write it all off. I need my Rhino for work to plow the parking lot in the winter remember??? Wink-wink. LOL

this may be the best advice -----
If you drive a chebby, make sure you unplug your trailer from your truck when you reach your destination..... you could drain your trailer batteries and kill your truck battery at the same time.

you can dis-regard this if you drive a Ford -- Ford uses a relay and cuts the circuit when you turn the key off.

at least if you kill your trailer batteries, you can then plug your truck in and charge them up enough to start your genny.

Spare tire(s), and then another spare tire(s), flashlight, outside BBQ grill, single ply TP, matches, box of disposable gloves (you'll figure this one out the first time your black tank clogs!!!), 2x6 boards to level your rig, jumper cables, portable vacuum (i like the leaf blower), table/folding chairs, tool kit (channel locks, adjustable wrench, screw drivers, cutters, duct tape, electrical tape, tie wraps, hose clamps, hammer, tire plugs, multimeter, wire crimper (with all kinds of ends), coil of 16 gauge wire (very useful when you need to jump out a switch, fuse, ect...), deck of cards and board games, bottle of vodka (not only to drink, but will sanatize sh!t if you get hurt)

Just don't plug the Ford in and try to start the gen. It will blow a $4 fuse in the truck. Been there, done that. Let it charge a few minutes.

This was copied and pasted from another forum. There might be some duplicates.

Rv toilet paper
poop tube and fittings
Chemicals for grey and black tanks
water hose
water fill hose to fill tanks
water regulator
water filter to put on hose when you fill the tanks
towels
dinner ware ( plates, silver ware, glasses, beers mugs, shot glasses)
shampoo
toothpaste
soap (dish and body)
bed clothes
extension cord/s
paper towels
cooling fan inside the fridge
ice chest
tools
fuses
first aid kit
outside chairs
barbecue
locks for the ramp door
read the owners manual on everything and send in the warranty cards
add more tie downs
throw rugs for the sink stove and bathroom
pots and pans
serving bowls
Seasonings
shovel
rake
propane lighters
level
One of those little square "special" Rv screw head bits.
One of the big Astroturf mats to place outside
WHEEL CHOCKS!!!! I have 2 nice dents in the bed of my truck from my 5er falling on it when it slid off the 6X8 pieces of wood I put under the front feet.
I was backing up to hook up, barely bumped the trailer, the trailer rolled off the leveler blocks under the tires, causing the front feet to side off their blocks, causing the front end of the 5er to rest itself on my bed rails.
Also get something to put under the jacks, those feet will sink in the sand. I use 6X8's you can get cut-off's pretty cheap at Home Depot
I like the wheel chocks that go between the tire = less rocking at the wheels.
paper plates
coffee
coffee pot & filters
towels (shower, dishes, for your face at night)
dish soap
trash bags -black heavy duty ones and regular kitchen ones for inside the trailer
toaster
rags
cleaner (409, simple green, etc)
extension cord to run anything outside
power plug adapter
grease for hitch and wheel bearings
lug wrench
air pressure guage
The square pillows to stuff in the roof vent holes are nice to keep it dark on those mornings you want to sleep in
Note book every trip write down what you forgot what you needed.
Floor jack
tools
air compressor
tables and chairs for outside
extra blankets and pillows
tire deflators and a good air compressor that runs off 110
black tank flush is a must
also, when your first set of batteries die, switch over to 2 golf cart batteries ran in series. they fuggin rock!!!
bbq
lock for your toys
coffee maker
trash can
bbq cooking utensils
parts and oils for toysand
and, if your trailer is a tag, an electric tongue jack IS the way to go!!!
Air bags for your tow vehicle
A sway bar (if it's a tow trailer)
Don't forget riding gear and your rides...
Go buy some extra fuses, the self resetting type, 30amp, 50 amp, like $5.00 each. Find out where everything is routed on your trailer. Find the little "hidden" fuses and switches and such. Makes it much easier to find at night in the dirt, when you have already found it during the day, at home. Make a diagram of where stuff is and keep it with the electrical stuff. Get some extra switches also, never know when they will fail.
www.polesandholders.com
-Spare keys
-a broom & dustpan
-a doormat so you don't have to use the broom as often
-pen & pad of paper even if you go with the whiteboard
-old paintbrush for dusting all the in-betweens
-RV toilet paper... don't use regular toilet paper
-chemicals for black and grey tanks
-rubber gloves for dumping
-hose and adapters for dumping
-drinking water hose with pressure reducer to fill the tank
-whatever adapters are needed to get you down to a normal 15A plug so you can connect at home and charge the batts

Done it again
Thats a shit load of stuff to bring.... I can barely remember to bring clean underware , I couldn't imagine bringing all that clutter. I know it's not your list but whoever wrote it probably spends 10 hours going through a checklist for a weekend trip. I feel sorry for his wife and kids lol. Do any of you guys lower your stabilizer jacks? I don't! I'm usually only in my trailer when I'm taking a shit or sleeping I couldn't give a crap if it shakes a little.

Lysol wipes and Swifter for cleaning up after a good leaf blow!

There's a lot of good info here.
Get a expandable rubber plug to fit the fresh water tank hole where the dump valve attaches. ( I hit a chunk of tire tread on the freeway once and knocked the dump valve off the fresh water tank). Telescopic forks for all the kids to roast marshmellows around the fire at night. Gas power blender.
Add a Water-gel burn blankets to the first aid supplies
