Honda EU3000i generator power problems.

My Honda EU3000i generator in surging from 0-60 volts. The engine still purrs like new on both eco and full throttle. It's 5 years old and has about 2000 hours on it. It's been used primarily at Pismo Beach and some of the terminals are pretty corroded so I'll start there since it's free. Any other ideas on what it could be? I couldn't find a generator forum so if someone knows of one please let me know.
