Pissed 3 broken rear cvs.

Ok guys I have broken 3 right rear outside cvs. The first two I just put two aftermarket cvs on. The last time I was ticked off and ordered an 05 complete axle. The 2004 was on backorder but from what I could tell the 05 would work just fine and was actually a thicker axle. My rhino is completely stock suspension and stock all over. Could there be something wrong with the rhino I havnt done anything in my 04 that my 08 hasnt been right there with me. The two are allways together have had no problem with it.

Combination of riding im allways in low range the cvs have actually broken just cruising usually. But as we all know that doesnt meen anything it could have been stressed before. But this cv didnt make it 100 miles. The last one we had actually came out of a mud hole in which I was in 4 wheel drive and low level hole not off axis was on flat ground took out of 4wheel drive went 100yds through some trails then went across a creek crossing that was barely on the floorboards and it broke as I was coming out the gradial slope on the other side.

When you say the CV broke what exactly is breaking? The cage? The housing? the star?

the 04 cv's and axles are a lot weaker than the 05 to 07 versions. the complete units (cv's and axles) are interchangable, so i would suggest getting the newer version rear axles, and that should solve your issues. but it kind of sounds like you already did that... not sure. are you running a lift kit, what size tires? do a lot of driving where one tire is either in the air or very low traction, putting all the force on one side?

Gear One makes some 300M cages that hold up to alot of abuse. I sure one of the vendors on here can fix you up.
