Rear shock upgrade......

So I was looking at the rear of my 04 tonight and had a hair brain idea.. Has anyone raised the rear shock mounts and bolted up some different, longer shocks? Kind of like a poor-mans mid travel set-up.. Obviously it would only work with cars without beds. Thoughts, ideas?

thanks

i thought about this to swap my rhino shocks onto my friends grizzly, the grizz rider is 375 pounds and rides aggressive, seems like it should work to me anyway, but i am not very knowledgeable in suspensions though

I would think that CV angles would come into play if you gave the stock suspension much more room to travel.

you can get a rear upper shock mount from Lonestar, you have to trim the underside of the bed to fit. then you can experiment with shocks.

but really there are good after market shock that help the stock rhino alot.

FOX, WERS, I-Shock all would be an improvement for stock arms.

Great idea!!!!

This is exactly what I did, I raised the stock upper mounts on all four corners and use a slightly longer shock...I now have 12" of wheel travel with no CV binding of problems....its easy, go for it.
