Desert Bar

I'm trying to plan a RV trip to Parker,AZ to check out The Nellie Saloon. http://www.thedesertbar.com/
On another forum I was told you have to be street legal to get to the Desert Bar.
So whats the deal?
Where should I camp in a 40' RV(the wife would like a campground).
How are the trails for a Rhino?
What else do I need to see and know?

I was up there New Years, the road has been changed to a "county road" I was told meaning it's for licensed vehicles only. That being said, I drove my truck out Sat. and Monday and saw many kids on quads/rhinos rolling out there. There are several OHV trails that lead to the bar as well. You can start on Cienega Springs road and simply jump on one of the trails that is adjacent to the road. The rangers that have been out there in the past have been more concerned with DUI's coming from the bar than anything else. Check out Boatcop.com and Alan, a Lieutenant for La Paz County SO (Parker), should be able to give you more info.

Great bar to see, technical trail out the back side that goes to Havasu. Kenny the owner is a strange duck but he built a cool place. Have fun.

We will be there this weekend. There is a campground on 95, I believe its called river island. It is a cross the street from the Last Chance for Cheap Gas station. Behind that station is the trail head into the desert bar.

Just back back. I was wrong about the campground name. Its Castle Rock. But the trail definately starts behind the gas station, which is across the street from the campground.
We drove the truck out to the desert bar. It was packed, as always. Lots of snow birds, lots of off-roaders that came in the back way.
We are trying to get a group together in February to make the run. Thinking we will get a room instead of driving the motorhome. Our room at the springs this weekend was only 43.00 for two nights. thats alot cheaper than gas for the rig.

I have been going there since I was a kid. We have always ridden out there. and even thought its a "country road" As long as you dont act like a jackass. thee popo will let you go through. there are a couple ways to get out there no street legal. My Rhino is legal so I just jump on the road and head out there. My house is on Riverside drive and we take the main road in.
