Rugged Bought a Pre-Runner!

So the other day I come into work and the boss says we have bought ourselves a new vehicle. From what he said it sounded like a beater but when i came in to work today, this is what i saw... an '83 F-150!

The cage needs some work as well as the rear end and motor. But for $3800 I think we got a pretty good deal.

Now I'm posting this up to hear some off roaders opinions. What do you think we should do with this thing.... our plan so far is to build it up to a pre-runner/chase vehicle that can be driven on the street as well as out at the dunes.

Post up your ideas and Opinions. I have attached a name poll to this thread as well. We have started to lean towards "AMIGO" since it is registered in Mexico. Post your name suggestions as well!

do you know what has been done it looks good to me could use a bed cage and a 4 link rear end

From what i can tell a few suspension mods but nothing quite useful. It has a cage but it could be built a lot better (we have tubing and a tube bender so we might try to tackle it ourselves) Harnesses, seats, and it looks like some fiberglass but we plan on putting a new one piece front end and bed sides on. Rear axle seems to be painted silver and is pretty rough looking so we may end up going to town on that thing. We need to do a rear bed cage and a 4 link, that would just be the tits on this thing as well as a new Ibeam kit

check out Giant Motorsports - Offroad Race Truck Suspension Specialists they have alot of DIY kits and fiberwerx make a nice 1pcs front end

I think one of the guys at the shop has already contacted Fiberwerx who makes great 1pcs kits. For suspension.... im not sure if we are going to do a DIY custom kit or maybe go with a bolt on kit. Ill check out what Giant has to offer, what it comes down to is who is really willing to trade product for product.
