looking for info on rotax issues

me and my buddy are thinking about doing the swap in the near future. ive searched fair and wide looking for post on common issues with the build. i cant find much which is good. i did read there are issues with the timing chain on 09 and older and some axle issues which is expected.

Someone will correct me but I think the timing chain issue is 2006 and older. No axle issues with the Rotax. you'll be (or should be) replacing the through shaft. Then you may want to upgrade your rear Rhino axles to 300m (if you do like I did and do wheelies on asphalt with four people)

Yeah, my biggest problem now is (was) re-learning how to drive the rhino. The new power makes it all different. After upgrading to the 300m axel's my issues with that went away. Now if I could just beat those pesky XP's....

Nice Lance................You need to lose some weight off those paddles and you'll be a lil faster yet!

Is everybody runnin the 300mm summer bros axles in the rear?

I had probs breaking my lsr axle with my old stroker motor, so I don't think they are gonna hang with the rotax!

I just broke my RR 300m summers axle.It had about 1000 miles of trail riding.Summers said "that I exceded the torque capacity of the axle".No shit! thats why I paid $400 for the 2 shafts,so that this wouldn't happen.

x2. Give Greg a call over at LSR if you need the new axles. I have been hammering the dog poop out of mine wide open through the whoops.

I don't fully understand why I've been getting by with my stock 06 axles other than not having the LT like most of you have...I know the day of "SNAP!" is coming tho, but we ride umpteen times a month....run paddles @ 4lbs pressure...... Rotax torque.....hillclimbing more than just dune cruising.....it's gotta be the stock suspension instead of the extra travel of a LT, doesn't it?????.........Mystified in Oregon, Lance

I've heard the Gorrilla's are made in China and are junk also.
