I only read the last 3 pages of this thread and I'm not sure what the argument is about but right now all I can say from the little bit I read and saw is ........."That front shock tower has to be the UGLIEST, most thoughtless, POS I have ever seen"

Would you race a stock Rhino at any sanctioned race and expect to win? Of course not! Ruesch Motor Comapny claims the stock XRL is faster than the stock Rhino. that's not saying much. They also provide a production big bore plus turbo option that is claimed to be faster than any other production UTV. People need to make an apples to apples comparison.

Actually the only reason to make any comparison at all is if you were thinking of buying one. Although it uses the Rhino frame, it's not a Rhino. The Teryx isn't a Rhino either.

Here's a something to think about...

If an decent engineer were to design a suspension component, lest say a set of long travel arms. His design would include all dimensions, radius's, materials, parts, welds, tolerances, etc. His design would also include quality control requirements, to make sure there was no way to use improper assembly, or fabrication techniques. As long as his design drawings were followed, it wouldn't matter if the parts came from Japan, China or the US, they would be identical.

So I ask you, is the problem with China built stuff, or is the problem with poor engineering?

A huge difference in whether its built in the US, China, or Japan, isn't so much quality of manufacturing. It's the quality of material used for that manufacturing....

Yamaha, Honda and Polaris all have joint ventures in China. There are people who will cut quality materials to make a cheaper product or to make more $$$ but which country it's built in has little to do with that.

And I wouldn't go bragging about the US. Have you looked at a Brister (American SportsWorks) Chuckwagon utvs that have popped up at every tractor supply in the country? It's a $7,000 pos made with cheap materials. Look how far China has taken go karts. It wasn't that long ago we were stuck with kenbar, manco and carters with lawn mower engines and crappy (if any) suspensions...much like the Brister's utv. If they can force the other guys to make a better product, so be it. Competition is a good thing. Of course unions have made damn sure that America can't compete because labor is too expensive here. Anything made well in the US costs a fortune.

The problem is China has the ****tyest QC (quality control) in the world. Your specs mean **** when the guy welding decides he has to take a **** and misses half the arm.

I was at SDHQ friday and spent some time looking over this. I have to say my first impression was not bad. I was actually pretty surprised at the "overall" build quality. The welds were decent, metal work fit well (lines looked good) and overall geometry was good. Anyone ever looked at Joyner? Finishing on those is complete garbage! The only thing I saw that was concerning was the rear axle's were very close to the coil. I was offered the opportunity to demo it that night, but passed. Looking at getting a Teryx, but I'd consider these once the engine is scaled up (700cc+).

$26,995.00 why the hell did I buy this Rhino. lol I guess the the thoughts of building another Rhino is not going to happen.
