Axxess Ground Loop

I know there are several threads on this, but I didn't find the answer. I installed a ground loop noise suppressor this evening because I have a little static in the receiver with both FM/Aux/CD. However if I plug my Ipod to the amp with RCA plugs I've got clean sound. Also, the winch causes a pop with the head unit on and no pop with just the Ipod. I could just loose the head unit considering my new 5th gen has an FM receiver (like the radio sometimes).

After installing the loop I have the same amount of noise. There were no directions with loop...only an indication that red goes to head power/green to vehicle power/black to ground. I hooked to the 12Volt ignition wire from the head rather than the yellow wire going to the battery. My question...should I make the loop going to the battery or the ignition wire...or does it matter? I figured I would still have the pop but would loose the static, but still have both. I have jacked with the grounds several times moving them around. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
