Yamaha Plow system--getting it on/off easy
I have the Yamaha plow system and was hoping that someone might have a suggestion relative to making the process of getting it on and taking it off a little easier.
First time I installed it, the plow was set on the flat ground and after fooling with it for a little bit, I used a small hydraulic jack to lift the push tubes into the mount (so that I could then get the pins in). That wasn't fun. Getting it off again was a little work as once it is in the mount it didn't want to let go easily. I tried to be "smarter" the 2nd time I did the installation as I set the plow down on a set of auto dollys--so while it was much easier to move it left and right and front and back to get it into position, my helper (a.k.a. wife) was ready to file for divorce by the time we got done. Even though I greased the mount where the push tubes connect AND greased the pins, I still needed to use my hydaulic jack to get the tubes up and slotted in far enough to put the pins in. I had hoped to leave the plow on for the bulk of the winter but she is just too much fun to drive. Any suggestions? Thanks |

sorry to hear that your having problems but that's kinda nature of the beast. IMO your stuck dealing with that, there really isn't a EASY way to mount them. you should've did some research before you bought the plow from yamaha. i have a moose plow with rm3 mount and can take it on or off in a couple seconds. maybe if it's still new you can b#tch to your dealer and exchange it for something better.

Demo Man,
Thanks. It is nice looking but it is not the system I would have bought. I bought my Rhino used and it came with the Yamaha plow system. Like you said, it probably just is the nature of the beast. |

plow hookups.
if your plow is a cycle country type they sell quick connects for it that makes it much easier, the pins stay on the connects you just position plow into quick connects ans they lock on to plow.
