Broken seat latch

Anyone know how to release the front seats if the seat latch is broken? Id sure like to check my fluids on my new UTV, I'm told the dipstick is under the passenger seat, but the seat latch is broken and I can't pull the seat up.

Also at what mph can u shift into 4wd?

I had to break mine by prying up with a big bar, probably not the best method though.

read somewhere that u can drill a hole in the front of the latch and reach in there with a wire and release it .

take big screwdriver and break the handle off of the seat latch then you can reach into the latch and pull the wire back with a hooked pick or what ever you have in your tool box. pull the wire and lift the seat up.

Breaking the latch is going to be the best option. We stock the oem latches for about 12 bucks each and to avoid the hassle again you use these

The little plastic tab breaks off on the factory handles, the billet one won't.

I bent the head of a nail and fit it in there to pull the spring. The billet latch is the way to go to prevent it but you gotta get the seat off to install.

thanks everyone, that worked. I bent an old broken scredriver that I grinded down into a dagger a while ago..... idle time. glad I never pitched it it was perfect.
What about the 4wd thing. Can I switch into it on the fly? below 15mph? what?

I shift mine all the time on the fly (20 -/+ mph). Just not when tires are spinning or hard on the gas
