Install Backup Light

This is a discussion on Install Backup Light within the How-To forums, part of the General Rhino category; I was wondering how to install a backup light. What do you wire it to and where do you guys mount your lights?...

on my '07 there was a pigtail under the edge of the bed for a reverse light-super simple. I don't know if you have the same or not, look under the rear edge on the drivers side-2 wires doing nothing

I LIKE THE YAMAHA LED TAIL LIGHTS WITH BACK UP LIGHTS. THEY PLUG RIGHT IN. I INSTALLED THEM ON OUR 2007 SPORT EDITION. THE RELAY & PLUG IN WIRES CAME WITH THE KIIT. OURS CAME FROM SDHQ OFFROAD.

But you need a relay from yamaha in the fuse box to make it work!

AZCourt used to sell the kits with relay and plug

any little cheap small light will work.

That's me I'm trying to do some affordable mods to mine. Don't have to have backup lights, but they'd be nice, and any cheap-o light will work. How much does the kit cost without the light?

I used the utility offroad link posted above. Works Great. I picked up two nice small 55 watt lights at my local autozone for $16. Bought a $3 relay, used the wiring that came with the lights. Works great. Only comes on when the headlight switch is on, and when you put it in reverse. I had just added a digital cluster to my rhino and the stock dummy light plugs weren't being used. You splice into one of the wires and it works great. Really impressed and for under $20 bucks. Plus I have an extra light as a spare, or to fix my buddies rhino. Thanks for posting that link. Brandon

I bought mine for $20.00 on ebay. They are small Hella driving lights 55watt. Had everything needed to hook up. I have a small switch under the dash and just turn them on when I need them. Spliced the switch wire into the 12V acc. outlet. Power goes directly to the battery through a fuse provided with the lights.
