cleaning the fins on the radiator

looks like mine is packed with coal dirt. sprayed it with the hose to flush out the crud after it dried it still looked caked in there.. any tips? how about a soap solution?

Take the rad out clean it properly and put it back in , it's not a hard job ,turn your wheels all the way to the right and take the rad out that side. I like to lift the front end of the ground at least 6" more is better ,then you will not get a problem with air in the motor or have any problem bleeding the motor, This is how I do mine , some one else may be able to give you more information, I have done this many times. when i did my radiator relocate i had to soak mine in water for 3 days just to loosen up the baked on mud and clay. after soaking i sprayed with a can of engine degreaser, let it sit for about half hour and then sprayed out with a pressure washer on low.
