battery ?

i bought a lawn mower battery from walmart 350 cranking amps 250 cold cranking amps starts great but was riding in snow kept cutting out like it was losing fire or spark never did die tried pulling choke out thought it was in carb but never did make a big difference didn't know if i got the coil wet or didnt have enough amps from battery to keet it running strong like it was starving fire drove home from where i was going didn't sputter that time just didn't know how big of a battery u had to have i know a guy who runs one and it does fine i do have a aftermarket coil and cdi box any help thanks
