Hand Operated Windshield Wiper

Is anyone using a hand operated windshield wiper ?

Good ? Bad ?

Looks like a good set up, very similar to one I came up with on my own. I got tired of having to stop to wipe off the windsheild on rainy days, foggy mornings, ect. Works very well. It would be better to have one for both sides though.

I dont use a windshield but there has been a post with a video about the hand operated wiper and it seemed to have worked great.

I installed my wiper last night. Took all of 10 minutes... It's the same one in the video here. I center mounted it about3-4" from the bottom. So far I am very happy with it but it could be a little more heavy duty. Is does operate very easily and it should do the trick for the limited use it will get.

Recommended !

I was going to take a picture but the damn thing is so frikin dirty right now...lol I'll see what I can do over the weekend...

As far as Rainx goes...it is not recommended for plastic...

Ya, rainx horrible for plastic, not a good idea. Nor is Aquapel made by PPG. awesome stuff for cars and glass in general but DON'T use on plastic / polycarbonates.

I couldn't believe how hard it was to drill through the Windshield... A good 3 minutes to get through... The Polycarb is amazing... I smack tree branches and break the mounting clamps and the windshield is unscathed...

Why would you put a wiper of any kind on a half windshield??
