Bluduh 08 Rhino 700 Drain Plug/Engine block

Today I changed the oil in my 08 Rhino 700. I bought it used. Whenever i pulled the plug out it was surrounded with aluminum shavings from the block of the motor. Does anyone know if you can use a helicoil to fix this problem? Or will I have to order a new block from Yamaha?

You can buy an oversize, self-tapping drain plug from Auto Zone, etc. Take your old one with you to get the right size.

i have put helicoils in alot of bikes and quads.. it worked good.. you have to shorten the helicoil so it doesn't stick up in the motor so far so the oil will drain.. put alot of grease on the drill bit and tap to catch the shaveings... i haven't tried the auto zone plug.. mite try that next time i fix one for someone
