2007 Rhino 660, which fuel pump?????

I have a 2007 Rhino thats having fuel issues, losing its prime. I'm going to replace the fuel pump and delivery system. I'm going to use ruttingrhino's delivery system, but not sure about pump. Which pump is one of the best with a stock engine. Will the high volume pumps work with a stock engine without fooding it? thanks

IMO you should keep the one you have...

I sell the same high volume pump everyone else does...it's not on the website...I sell the fuel kit to match it which is the same quality as the one for the stock pump you are considering now...

Only with that pump the fuel line kit is more parts and quite a bit more time to make...

There is a slight advantage to the high volume pump..but overall the increased cost and time to install and all that goes with it are way more trouble than it's worth considering it's not needed...

But I will sell it to you if you insist lol...

The advantage would be faster priming...pumps up prime in 5 seconds instead of 10...

That's because it is essentially two stock pumps in one unit...it is meant for use on large v-twin motors...

The slick thing to do imo...is what mtgrizzlymn did...

He is not around to testify for a while he is on vacation so no point in pinging him...

But what he did was install and electric pump in series with the stock pump...put it on a momentary switch on the dash...

Hold the button down it pumps prime...carb primed...release button...crank motor fires right up...what's not to like...

From there you vacuum pump does it's thing normally...regardless of which one you have...

I call the high volume pump the double pumper because like I said it is twin units in one housing one input two out puts...each output approx same as stock unit...

IMO...the electric pump full time is not only got it's own set of problems to solve but is a major safety hazard on this vehicle...

My personal experience is I was strapped into one the the motor grenaded and the vehicle caught on fire...

If something like this happens with the electric pump it keeps spewing gas after the motor quits...the vacuum pump cannot continue to operate once the motor quits...to me that is a big deal but like I said it's more real to me....

Anyway...if you buy my fuel delivery kit for the stock pump and decide later you need a double pumper I will 'UPGRADE' your fuel lines and sell you the pump at that time...you won't be paying double...

So venting problems and other problems that can occur with any fuel pump even electrics may still plaque you after you get the kit but you will be able to diagnose and solve them...

Also..field "survival" of non starting issues becomes a lot easier to deal with when you see where gas is, isn't, is going, when, where, how etc...

You will eliminate p/u tube and broken pick up assemblies as a potential cause of any problems permanently...

The fuel filter gets relocated over the gas tank for easy access, clear viewing and better flow...

I know you wanted to know why you are loosing prime...

The answer is vapor lock and pressure differential...

That cannot be eliminated entirely...and it is worse at some times than others...

The key to restarting after loosing prime is to have a system that primes a little more easily and less prone to vapor locking...

So while my fuel kit doesn't solve that...it makes it better...but best of all you learn the "tricks" of dealing with it effectively when it happens...

Can you simply put a high volume pump on and forget the other stuff...yeah...is it really any better...

Ask Shrek... he finally saw the light and coverted back to stock pump and now problem free...
