What a weekend but have a 08' sport edition 700fi and i am having issue the "R" light kept blinking and coming on while i was in both high and low ranges cant figure it out reverse lights would blink and would not go over 25 mph like rev limiter was on when you go fast in reverse but does go off time to time and checked for unplugged or brokin wires everywhere any help would be appreciated i hate to take to dealership for it, wont get it back for a while!!

Im NOT positive because you have a 700 but on the older 660's the reverse switch is normally closed and lifts the ground wen in reverse. the problem is if the con tion is disturbed the light goes on and the reverse limiter is in effect. I've grounded mine as atemporary measure but latter I've hard wired the conector in the wiring loom heat shrunked and sealed I still have aclip in conector to the actual switch.

The wire (again on the 660) is green with a white stripe and the switch is under the oem air cleaner box. Obviously air filter box is difrent on the 700 but perhaps on top of the trans section of the cass just under the air tube on the 700?
Hopefully this will help you on the 700 if so please let us all know just for the info.

is it have some sort of contact to something when not in reverse of is it a adjustment i am confused sorry?

If you can find a green with a white stripe wire cut it (in a place where it can easily be spliced back togeather) and strip the end bare and then fined a conveint bolt on the engine to ground the wire (loosen and slip the wire under then tighten up). see if that releives the problem you have.of course your reverse indicator and back up lights if you have them will no longer work. but at least you can go faster than 25 mph
