Also I forget on an 08 700 do you still turn the filter to the left to loosen? As in standing behind the Rhino and turn counter clockwise?

I forget every time.

To remove my filters I just pop a srew driver thru them once the oil is empty and crank down on the screwdriver. The filter is going in the trash anyways so why not.

Yeah stock filter. I've seen some that connect to a socket wrench. Mine had a handle and is a pain in the ass. This is what I just broke. Looking for something better.

Do you just hit it with a hammer? I'd be concerned about messing the threads up.

Yeah, as long as you are towrds the end there is nothing to worry about. Just make sure the screwdriver goes thru both ends like you hit a tin can standing up with a bow and arrow.

I use the Tru-flo air filters and Weller recommends just putting them on hand tight. To remove them is a bitch (which is a good thing from what I hear) so I've just gotten into the habit of poppin' a screw driver thru them.

Lol. Believe me if I could I would. I can barely get my arm in there. Might give the screw driver a shot tomorrow and then go with the K&N. Like the idea of a 17mm on the end. I change my oil every other trip and am sick of fighting that cheap filter wrench and no room.

Appreciate the help everyone.

I also use a large channel lock pliers and if that does not work I poke a screw driver threw it .

Ummm...the black one is cheaper cause it's black and the chrome one has the "cool factor" and the price is adjusted accordingly....seriously I believe that they are the same internals. You can also use the same oil filter spec'd out for a yzf600R6.
