Engine is out... bottom end?

I have a 686 kit which had a piston failure I pulled the engine and am having it rebuilt. While It is out, if there anything that needs to be done to the bottom end?

Nothing was done to the bottom end when the kit was put in. I think the builder ran the engine too lean causing the piston to die.

It looks like I can jump up to the next larger piston and get the piston sleeve bored out and I will be good on the top. Not sure if anyone recommends something to be done to the bottom.

As always thanks for the help!

If you are not hard on the machine you can leave the bottom end stock. Weller Racing has a great piston that has an oiling modification built into it to eliminate the wrist pin galling that is common the the 660.
