sv1000 swap.no spark or fuel

Hey guys i got my motor in and everything wired up. it rolls over but im not getting spark or fuel. what i have so far:

-no spark from either cylinder (pulled plugs out and grouded to engine..nothing)

-i put the fuel pump on a switch to test it and it will turn on manually.(does not prime when i flip on the ignition)

-tipover sensor is up right and in the right position. ( i will try bypassign it today with a resistor just incase)

-clutch wires are tied together
-kickstand wires are tied together
-its in Neutral
-coils are properly grounded and getting 12V
-oil light is on, but it shuts off when you try starting it
-gauge reads "CHEC" at the bottom.(from what i understand thats normal)
-battery has over 12V
-all fuses are good
-all turn signals and flashers work
-the ECU gets warm after i have been testing it for a while..normal??

I am stumped!!!

Something is telling the ECU no to fire the bike. Do you hear a click from the cut-off relay when you turn on the ignition (you should)? Do you have a manual? On the R1 you can access all the trouble codes and trouble shoot all the sensors from the stock gauge cluster. That helped me a lot with getting mine figured out.

it does have a dealer mode where i can scan to see if there are any codes being thrown out(i will check that). I do not hear a clicking sounds either. i do hear a small click from the starter relay when i turn the ignition off. i do have a manual i went through the whole section on "no spark, poor spark" and 2 out of the 3 things pointed to a bad ECM. but i know it started and ran before i got the motor, so i dont know

Are you using the bikes ignition-key switch? I know in the hayabusa the key switch sends a signal to the ecu telling it is ok to start. (Anti theft devise) And you will not find it anywhere in a manual. I had to add a diode in line to fake the ecu before I could get spark.

Its probably not a bad ECM. (Ive got a spare R1 ECM because it kept telling me that too, and it turned out to just be bad gas).

With the R1 in "dealer mode", you can go through each and every function and test them. You can fire each spark plug individually, fire the injectors, turn on the fan, etc. And if the ECU can do those things in dealer mode, then it should be able to normally, and you can look elsewhere (like wiring).

yes i have to stock ignition key. i will go through the codes today and see if anything comes up. it does say "chec" on the gauges which i thought was normal at startup, but Jason told me that its a fault.

I got it running!!!!

It turns out it was a bad intake air pressure sensor. i noticed that i was warm to the touch and decided to disconnect it just to see what happens and whamoooooo!!!!.

So if you ever get a CHEC message and no spark or fuel make sure you check your all your sensors!! btw the manual never says anything about this being a possible cause for a no start situation.

Awesome! Congrats.

I was pulling my hair out on my R1 for a while, and it turned out to be 1 wire that was pushed half way out of a connector. So it would loose connection randomly. You just never know...
