I am having the same problem with my 2007 660. Did the new switch help the brakes not ligjhting up. My neutral light works, but the brake lights don't and I can't start it in any gear except neutral since it doesn't recognize that the brakes are being pushed.

Rhino gear position indicator switch

Just fixed my gear position switch. Moisture accumulates in there causing both H and L to be showing. The reason Neutral light is hard to get displayed is because the contact is tiny on the switch. Remove both seats, remove engine cover, remover airbox (two plastic plugs at front of airbox, hose clamp holding airbox to throttle body, there is two hoses on air box that just pull off). Then carefully lift out the airbox. The gear indicator sensor is under the box on the left side of engine as if you were sitting in rhino. It is held in by two 10mm bolts and will be hard to get out and probably break around outside. Use a skinny screwdriver to lever it out from top, working it out slowly. Then there is a plug attached to it you simply unplug and have to negotiate out under the carb. The new switch cost me 145nzd from yamaha. Just put the oring on it from the old sensor/switch or replace oring if it needs it, clean the inside where the old switch came out of. A little spring loaded rod with a ball on the end slides across the contacts, give it a good clean with isopropyl alcohol,you have to do this without seeing it because of the position of it. I used a mirror to look in there just to see all was clean. The new switch goes in super easy just make sure it is the right way up,contacts at the bottom. Bit of rubber grease on the oring doesn't hurt. Check it, mine worked mint. Put it all back together. Done. You can make small adjusts by loosening the lock nuts on the selector rod and make sure the gear shift detents mint in all positions(this will make sure also the contacts line up mint) although mine didn't need moving. My rhino 2007 with 609hrs on it. The contacts wear poorly and am sure most people with problems of multiple lights showing or no neutral this is first port off call. Thanks enjoy
